Expertise

Our working group explores ways to strengthen care and diagnostics for non-communicable diseases, supports health education and promotse knowledge exchange between international partner institutions.
Non-communicable diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and chronic kidney disease present a major health burden worldwide. Health systems in low- and middle-income countries are often inadequately equipped to diagnose or treat these conditions. Furthermore, there is a shortage of trained healthcare professionals specialized to tackle these conditions, particularly in nephrology.
We work closely with international universities and local partner organizations to sustainably strengthen health care and education at the community level. Our focus here is on sub-Saharan Africa with a country focus on Uganda.
